Our horses

The Icelandic horses

The farm's horses consist of a wide selection of Icelandic horses for all levels.

We only use Icelandic horses, which with their good minds and pleasant gaits are suitable for both beginners and experienced riders. We have around 40 riding horses and therefore have a good chance of finding a horse that in mind and temperament suits the individual rider. As a starting point, you have the same horse for the duration of your stay, unless otherwise desired or we judge that a change must be made.

We breed, ride and train our horses ourselves and therefore know them inside and out. We strive for the horses to thrive both under the rider, but also in the herd and stable.

We regularly train all the tour horses ourselves to be sure that our guests have the best opportunity to switch between gaits.

We only use quality saddles, and each horse basically has its own saddle and bridle.

The horses graze on Rønnerne over the summer. In winter, they go to fields close to the farm and are fed with wrap or hay.

You groom and saddle "your" horse yourself, but we always check that everything fits as it should and also tighten the reins during the trip.

To spare the horse's body too many twists, we always hold against the opposite side of the saddle when climbing.
